About the Artists

AWARD ARTISTS

Although the Rozsa Award for Excellence in Arts Management was designed to recognize an outstanding arts administrator, it still required two talented artists to bring the Award to life. Tyler Rock created a visual representation of the Award in the form of an exquisite glass sculpture. Arthur Bachmann studied Tyler's work and, in turn, was inspired to compose the Rozsa Overture. As you listen to his music, you can hear the Award as well as see it.

Arthur's music is often played when the Awards are presented, and is also heard on this website. The sculpture that Tyler created remains on permanent display in the Rozsa Centre at the University of Calgary. Tyler also crafts a smaller unique sculpture for each year's winner to keep.

“Tyler and I have been involved in creating the awards for the Rozsa Arts Management Awards since the award’s inception. We love making the awards because they celebrate the arts, the ceremony is so well organized and collaborative, as well, the Rozsa family are great people to work for. When we asked them what they would like us to make this year, they replied, “just do what you do.” This is what every artist hopes for when it comes to commissions.”
